The end of 2024 brought a Christmas miracle for us at Homeless Evolution—our supported accommodation scheme has finally been officially recognised by Cardiff Council! This milestone marks the culmination of eight challenging months, during which we’ve persevered without financial support, driven solely by our directors’ unwavering commitment and charity.
A Journey of Dedication
Since launching earlier this year, we’ve provided safe, supported accommodation to two vulnerable adults in Cardiff who were homeless or at risk of homelessness. Despite the financial hurdles, we remained steadfast in our mission to empower individuals to rebuild their lives. Every small victory along the way has been a testament to the resilience of our service users and the dedication of our team.
Recognition from Cardiff Council not only validates our work but also sets the stage for greater impact in 2025.
Looking Ahead: Our Plans for 2025
With this recognition as our springboard, we’re excited to share our ambitious plans for the year ahead:
- Expanding Capacity
Our goal is to increase our accommodation capacity to support 12 adults in Cardiff who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. More homes mean more opportunities to make a meaningful difference in our community. - Hiring a Support Worker
To enhance the personalised care we provide, we aim to hire a dedicated support worker. This role will help us better address the unique needs of each resident and provide tailored guidance for their journey toward independence. - Becoming a Registered Charity
We’re preparing to take the next step in our evolution by transitioning from a not-for-profit company to a registered charity. This change will open doors to new funding opportunities and partnerships, enabling us to sustain and grow our mission.
